The first step in our screening process is the panel interview, which lasts approximately one hour. The panel consists of three management pilots who will ask questions about your background, education, and flight experience. Some questions will cover technical knowledge, but the interview focuses primarily on your past behavior. Come prepared to talk about aspects of you that illustrate the kind of person we would be interested in hiring. The panel will review your logbook with you.

After the completion of a successful panel interview, we will call you back for a simulator evaluation. This test is usually conducted in our MD80 simulator, but occasionally we use the B737 simulator if the MD80 is broken or busy. The simulator instructors provide assistance with power settings, pitch attitudes, etc. to allow you to focus on basic instrument flying. The profile is a standard takeoff and landing with basic maneuvering and instrument procedures. There are no non-normals introduced during the ride.

After successful completion of the simulator evaluation, a thorough background check is initiated which includes the following:

·DOT Drug Screen
·Ten-year background check, per Continental Corporate Standards
·FAA PRIA (Pilot Records Improvement Act) Checks (see items 1-6 below)
·TSA Background check

The Pilot Records Improvement Act of 1996 requires that all documents pertaining to your previous and current employment for the last five years be reviewed. These documents include: FAA records, training and performance records, records of disciplinary action administered, and drug and alcohol testing records. Our corporate background check will look at your last 10 years. The request for records from your previous employers will not be sent until after you successfully complete the simulator evaluation. Background checks may not be completed until after your hire date. Therefore, when we do offer you a position, it will be conditional on a successful outcome of the background checks.

To assist us in collecting this data please download, print, complete, sign and bring to your interview the following documents:

1.FAA Record Request Form 8060-10 (Complete Part II only.)

2.FAA Airman Notice and Right to Receive Copy - FAA Records Form 8060-10A.

3.FAA Air Carrier and Other Records Request Form 8060-11. This form will be sent to your current employer/s. Please complete and provide request forms for any additional employer(s) with whom you were employed in the last five years as a pilot. Make additional copies if necessary. Provide the name and address of your previous employer in Part I, and complete all of Part II. This form is only required for previous or current civilian employers.

4.Airman Notice and Right to Receive Copy - Air Carrier and Other Records Form 8060-11A. This form is only required for previous or current civilian employers.

5.Authorization for Release of DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Records Form 8060-12. This form is only required for previous or current civilian employers.

7.Fair Credit Report Form (FCRA) (This form is required for processing the NDR request.)

You can download these documents from this link: http://www.continental.com/company/career/pilot.asp?hdnNav=2/company/career/pilot.asp

The forms from our website already have the Continental information entered.

Please read these forms carefully to ensure all appropriate blanks are completed.

With the above documents, please enclose a copy of the following:

2.Your current First Class Medical form 8500-9 (short form),

If you do not have a current valid U.S.A. passport, contact me immediately for further instructions.

During the interview, we will have a completed employment application pre-printed for your signature. If you have not already done so, please return to the addendum section of the online application and complete the "Background References" section. This is a list of four people who know you personally and is required for the employment application.

This is interesting. I know someone with a passport from one of the Caribbean islands. Is he eligible for employment with CAL?
