The only reason Dr.'s don't want you flying after 36 weeks is because they want you close to home should you have to deliver so they can do it themselves. My girlfriend and I went flying at 30 weeks, we checked with the doctor before and she didn't care at all. Said we could travel all we wanted to.

You would be surprised there is "ALWAYS" a doctor, a nurse or EMT on board a flight on personal travels. You put 150 people in metal tube together, 9 out of 10 times when an inflight medical situation arises, it is attended by someone in the medical field who is willing to provide some sort of care. On a wide body, there is even always two or three easily. Quite common. However, any decision making regarding what to do with the flight, the airlines should contact "Medlink" to seek their professional evalution on these matters to cover their a$$es even if there are plenty of help on board, if they to say to land, it lands. Without it, it would expose the airline and whoever is involved to a lot of personal liabilities if something goes even slightly wrong.

There are also "good samaritan" laws which would preclude a lawsuit. However, these are state laws and may have no jurisdiction in flight, especially an international flight. Depends over which state(s) the incident happened.

Heard the FAA, TSA, DOD and INS are investigating. The airplane arrived with one more passenger than what was on the paperwork, the passenger was an undocumented alien, who understood no english and who did not cooperate by filing out the required forms. There was no positive bag match. Further, they bypassed immigration and failed to comply with regulations by interference with the flight crew members and flying naked, which if isn't against the law, should be.

Also the airline has a new memory item:

Lady in Cabin with Labor Pains
USA Today........... Emergency Stow
Seat Belt Sign....... On
Cockpit Door......... Secured
Thrust Levers........ MCT, or 1 degree less than max ITT
Cruise Speed......... Don't consider Barber Pole a limitation, consider it a goal.

Just kidding ... excellent work by all involved.
