I don't feel there is a pilot who trusts ASA mgt. Just look at what they have done over the years. Look at how unprofessionaly they have addressed a legal agreement between two groups. Look at how little respect they have for the pilots as a professional group that is such a crucial part to ASA's success.

If they do respect the pilots, they have done a very poor job of making the pilots aware of this.

So, is there anything mgt. can do to regain that respect in a few months or weeks so that the pilot group will believe what they say? NO!

They dug their own hole and now they want out. It doesn't matter what they want in this contract or what they tell me or any other pilot at ASA. Mgt. has lost all trust and I feel no matter who is telling the truth we are left only with trusting ALPA. ALPA is the only one I know is on my side. Mgt. can say all they want, I don't feel I can believe a word they say.

You kick a dog enough, they will never trust you again.

The pilots didn't create this! Mgt. at ASA did through their fine wisdom and business skills.

It's always been this way at ASA. Even when Delta bought us, and now Skywest, mgt performance never changes. Mgt never fixes any problems, they just let the pilots handle and take care of it. Well, we really fixed it in '98, and looks like it's happening in '06 too. Mgt better wake up.

Yeah, I trust them....about as far as I can make my RJ fly backwards...

As for bonuses and the pilot's taking paycuts to increase profit...it completely undermines their credibility. Lebreques bonus will cost the company more than the bonus check he's getting. If we really need to become more competitive, everyone needs to share in the pain. Fracturing the group to get reduced pay on the 70's is not an effective method. Why not level with us by starting at the top and saying they're gonna reduce every manager's salary by 3-5%? Then work down. Lead by example. Offer incentives to those that come up with money saving ideas.

On the other hand, my job is making things more expensive! My walk arounds are starting to take longer. It's funny how, as I get more experience in this job, I start to notice more and more things. I've seen a few nav light covers with cracks in them. In the past I would have over-looked these, not specifically looking at the screw holes to make sure they're in good condition. However, a very seasoned captain, on a walk around with me, pointed out these cracks. I was in MCN a few days after that and asked one of the MX guys. He said those things are several thousand dollars and are 60-90 days delay on order. In the can, the plane is limted to 350 cycles. That's pushing that 60-90 day wait. That would really suck to have a plane sitting idle because of a lousy nav lens. But hey, by the book is by the book.

Ever since the Christmas Cookie fiasco of 2004, I have been turned off by management. I know, I have to learn how to let things go, but I just can't in this case.

(sorry for the useless comment, but that's why I come to flightinfo to begin with) :smash:

Seriously, I would like to see our managment lead by example. How about a paycut for the GO, followed by sharing some of those stock options with the employees. What types of paycuts are other employee groups taking? Aren't we a team and all in this together?
