Here's the deal. Caribbean Sun Airlines is having
a class soon. If you enjoy the beach, are laid back,
and easy to fly with, then CSA needs you!

Just kidding, I hear they make all those guys checkairmen!



San Juan PR is tough for some, but the surfer/sailor
"dudes" seem to enjoy it here. So those skills are
probably a plus. I've since moved on to greener pastures
and I've lost track of some of my Dash buddies. So Mike,
if your still out there, and you still Windsurf, get in touch with
me!

If you are a US citizen, like everyon else in PR, you shouldn't have any trouble.

BTW, try surfing on the western end of the island. There are a few spots that many Australians and Hawaiians like to visit. (Crashboat, Jacinto's Well, and a few others) Also, spend a weekend in LaParguera (SW corner of the island)

i just happend to hear over and over again how nice PR is. every person i know compares it to this n. shore.
sounds like a good deal flying dash-8's around there, many east coast friends will be intrested in hearing more.
and now i've had MY coffee, and some secret spots offshore and solo,

One More Thing....

Just to wrap this thread up,

CSA is NOT a place for low time guys, though a few have been hired. Several didn't make it through the training. The Owner and management have plans to take the company places, at least that's the word they keep putting out. Larger equipment IS in the business plan. If you have the time, or are well connected, not a twit, can fly the DASH, and like to surf, sail, or kite, then send a resume to [email protected]

Tant's the first year pay; problem is that's about a 60-65 hour guarantee, and no one ever flies over guarantee. Also, there is no pay scale currently in place. In other words, there are no longevity raises.

The second problem is that operational difficiencies continue to plague the company.

The third is that the General Manager is an Eastern S - - B.

The fourth is that the CP is a pathological liar. Is he furloughed from Uniuted, Miami Air (Claims he was a check airman here; word has it he never made it off IOE), or US Air? Depends on who he has talked to in the past fifteen minutes. Did he fly the F-4, F-18, or F-14 in the navy? That, also, depends on who he has talked to in the past fifteen minutes. Finally, was he ever the part owner of an operation out of FLL named Calypso Air, as he has often claimed? Did he REALLY play football at Penn State on the National Championship team?

And to answer your forthcoming question -- yes, I do have a problem with the guy; he was once ( I thought) my friend,then (while he was gunning for the CP job) stabbed me in the back with an episode of lies and defamation in order to further his sorry-arsed career.

CSA has lots of great people that work there. Several of them are very close friends of mine, but I am positive that if you talk to them privately that they will tell you that the place is far from paridise.

I just made a phone call, and while I'm not sure about
some of the claims you made, I can tell you that if you talk
to MY buds that are still there, you would hear them
say that MOST are quite happy.

As far as the "Arse" of a CP, he's the the guy who got the
CSA pilots a 5 on 5 off schedule, with a sched department
that will work with you to make things commutable. I hear
all lines get 15 off now too. How many days off at ALG, PDT
Eagle, .....or Planet?

Look, I didn't start this to get into a flame war, I was looking
for a buddy of mine that I had lost touch with, I found him, he's
got his dream job, so no worries. I know that I had a fine time
working down there, and from what I hear it just keeps getting
better.

I think so... he used to commute to Chicago when working for C8, now to the islands for CSA. Talk about a tough commute!
