You talking about TG, I mean DR. TG at Trash States?
Man...I have a couple stories for you on that guy. Darn near got us alll KILLED one night in DEN. I don't want to sound pompous or anything, but I'm convinced if he had a low time FO instead of me that night that it would have been a fatal accident.

I had the mis-pleasure of flying one leg with that guy. IAD-STL with a 140kt headwind. I did not say anymore than I had to and watched in horror as he flew a sketchy approach into STL. I felt like I was an instructor again guarding the controls. It was a long flight and I would rather shove glass into my eyes than do that again.

I heard that he was fired. That was as of about 3 weeks ago.

Dr. TG was fired? That's wonderful news! After flying with him I thought is was procedure to start up the APU at 500ft and fly with every damn light in the cockpit on full bright. But don't worry! "Bright lights don't effect your night vision!" says TG, nevermind that because it's nighttime it's the FO's leg.

Thank god he is gone!!! What a train reck of a captain

Hi!

There won't be "plenty of applicants" at any of the lower regionals unless something drastic happens.

If Mesa goes under, and they sound the most likely to right now, because they may not be able to fly many of their scheduled flying, then all those pilots will be available, which will delay the massive shortage of low-time pilots that is developing.

SkyWest, Eagle, and Mesa combined are wanting to hire 2000 pilots this year. They won't be able to do it, as there aren't that many.

As we can see, the regionals are already paying more (Republic $2500 signing bonuses for new guys with RJ quals).

Eventually the airlines will have to recruit high school grads and train from zero hours. Who wants to spend a small fortune on an education to get paid less than minimum wage. Either that or outsource to India.
Pilots for less = Green card.

Fortunately, most "low labor cost" nations have there own internal severe pilot shortages. We won't be getting pilots from China or India in the near future. In fact, they are both hiring American pilots, and paying them far better than regional wages.
