Question: does Delta's non stop from Detroit to Hong Kong have problems with weight restrictions?

Family is planning the trek to Hong Kong in a week and the flights are wide open--as long as they don't have to withhold seats for weight we should be ok. Hence the question, do we have to worry about weight restrictions on the 777-200 for the 16 hour flight?

Thanks in advance

short answer no... the plane shouldn't have issues with weight.

If they payload optimize the flight, then they won't get on. When there is belly cargo to ship, they will take the cargo before non-revs right up to max weights.

I believe DLnet now warns you if the flight is optimized when you try to book it.

I do ORD-HKG on the -300ER, and that direction there normally aren't any weight problems. Most express freight we carry goes HKG-ORD, and not the reverse. I don't know about Delta, but I would imagine it would be similar.
