Maybe, but I don't think anyone will respect your "slow-tation" type.

Um, dude, if the ERJ is the only jet you have ever flown, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and chalk your comment up to inexperience and ignorance.

It's not exactly an F-16 in the climb nor cruise.

Besides, in case you haven't figured it out yet. At the end of the day, it comes down to pay and QOL, or what kind of flying makes you happy. But I'm sure you knew that already, ya sure, I betcha ya did

thanks for the help dojetdriver

I have now learned my place in aviation. When a 1000hr.ERJ F/O that makes 19 grand a year is wiser than myself. Its nice to know what these pups think of corporate aviation. At last count a 5th year employee flying a "SLOWTATION" makes over a 100 grand a year at net jets! I guess they are just dumber than any regional erj F/Os. Perhaps I will put in my application at Mesa so that I might learn the ways of aviation!

Nick5600,

Look, I don't care if you're in a Cessna Jet or a B747, it's about how you present yourself at the interview and how you can fly the simulator.

Also, in ground school do you study and when it comes time for the final test and exit oral, Kalitta has an exit oral which you need to pass to progress to the simulator, have you prepared yourself well?

I just talked to some new hires a couple of days ago and one guy had never flown anything larger than a B1900 and he passed his checkride.

So what does this mean? Sure having some heavy jet or transport catagory aircraft time might be nice to have, but don't let that stop you from applying at Kalitta.

The lifestyle here is tough at times and it's mostly the time alway from home if you have a family.

If you are single it's easier, or can your family deal with the time you'll be away from home.

Kalitta knows this and they want to hire pilots who can handle this type of schedule, not get trained and then leave in 12 months because they made the wrong choice of airlines.

Good Luck...............................
