Delta Air Lines Announces Successful Vote On Plan of Reorganization
Monday April 16, 1:00 pm ET
Unofficial results show overwhelming support of Delta's plan
ATLANTA, April 16, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Delta Air Lines (Other OTC:DALRQ.PK - News) today announced that unofficial results of the vote on the company's Plan of Reorganization show overwhelming support of creditors for the company's plan. More than 95 percent of ballots cast and claims value voting were in favor of the plan. Creditors also voted in similar numbers in favor of the Plan of Reorganization for Delta's wholly owned regional airline subsidiary Comair. The final voting results for both plans will be filed later this week with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Bastian, Delta's executive vice president and chief financial officer. ``We are looking forward to a strong future as we emerge from bankruptcy later this month, continuing the momentum we have built through our restructuring and returning Delta to its rightful place as an industry leader.''
The next milestone in Delta's bankruptcy proceeding will be April 25 when the court will be asked to confirm Delta's Plan of Reorganization, allowing the airline to exit Chapter 11. On Feb. 7, Delta received court approval of its Disclosure Statement and the authorization to solicit votes from creditors on its plan of reorganization. Voting on the plan ended April 9.
Important Financial Disclosure
Delta's Plan of Reorganization provides for certain creditors to receive distributions of newly issued common stock upon the Company's emergence from bankruptcy. Holders of Delta's existing common stock (the ``old equity'') will not receive any distributions under Delta's proposed Plan of Reorganization. The old equity, which was delisted from the NYSE on October 13, 2005, is currently trading over the counter under the symbol DALRQ. The old equity will be cancelled upon the effectiveness of the proposed Plan of Reorganization, which the company believes will be shortly after the Bankruptcy Court's confirmation hearing scheduled on April 25, 2007. Accordingly, we urge that caution be exercised with respect to existing and future investments in the old equity and any of Delta's existing liabilities and other securities.

About F)(*&^%$ time

Hopefully all will go well! I just talked to my new hire sim partner from Comair and he got recalled to 75/76 out of LA. He lives there, so hopefully he will have a few years of peace!

You mean an actual Delta pilot got hired by Comair while on furlough? I thought that was just an urban legend...

Isn't Delta firing ALL of the Atlanta ASA ramp and gate agents @ June 1st and allowing them to get re-hired w/delta at first year pay? Must be part of their re-organization plan - great job delta.........

OR is that Skywest doing the firings & re-hirings.......?

Either way, a nice screw-job by management.......

Get the masking tape out...

The new paint job is waiting in the wings....

Kudos to the NWA and DAL pilots for recouping a significant % of their bankruptcy claim.

Makes the AAA pilots look like a bunch of chumps...

you think? I thought that was a great idea. It has been many years since I worked for ASA, but the work force in ATL is...lets just say its hard to find hard workers in ATL. This way they can screen the lazy sob's out and now hold the ones on the fence to Delta standards. If you do not provide the level of service expected by DAL, then your out.

Not that the problem is just with ATL. Work ethics seem to not exist in the younger generation these days, but I have just seen so darn many in ATL. And they act like you are putting them out by having them do their job. I can think of 2 gate agents the last time I flew through ATL that do not have the ability to ask me if I want fries with that, yet they were trying to board an ASA flight. Hope they are the first to hit the bricks.

plus I think the DAL pay rate will be a raise for them.
