NWA, watch whatever feet you want to watch. I know the 30-40 9's are going but there are many sights and ppl stating that the 5500 block my get saved. Makes sense to me to run them up and down the east coast.

I beleive that some of those 319's will be used to the shuttle as well. Overall I have been told DAL sees it as an inefficient a/c. Now do an engine upgrade and things will change.

I have heard exactly the the opposite. 319 can be used in some 100 seat markets, better seat mile cost than most a/c in fleet and longer range than 320.

Seems a waste of the 319 capabilities. Why not use the 9 for the shuttle? Seems perfect for that short range, high yield route.

Biz Passengers know exactly what a DC-9 is. While commuting on our -88's back in the DCA-LGA days I would definitely hear the comments about it being an old a/c compared to USAir's Airbuses, etc, etc.

I'm sure the DC-9 probably has just has good of a dispatch reliability rate as the Airbus (less things to break), but don't try telling one of these know it all freq flyers.

It's the right size a/c (compared to the -88) and also upgrades public image ( newer a/c).

Although a DC-9 makes sense to you and I, I don't think it would be well received. Especially when our competitors are using new equipment (E-190's & Acela ).

Hopefully we see this on the DCA run as well.
