""if the pilot early retirement issue is not resolved before the end of the month, or if all of the pieces don't come together in the near term, we will have to restructure through the courts."

Any news on how many pilots are leaving today after the explicit threat of a bankruptcy filing to prevent early retirements? Seems like it would be difficult not to head for the exit.

There are plenty of pilots that have worked 25 years and might be ready to bail out. All of this pay cut talk makes them nervous and ready for the beach after 25 hard years of working.

As far as what Dalpa MAY do, they may allow some sort of guarantee of the lump sum IF the retiring pilot remains at Delta for an extra 3 months or so--giving Delta the time necessary to train someone else for that position. I can't see Dalpa NOT helping, they have helped all along, and management knows that. Sure, the pay issue has been ongoing, but Dalpa has signed plenty of side letters of agreement to help the company out when it comes to staffing. I have a feeling they will do it again on a temporary basis.

Bye Bye--General Lee
