First of all, we do not have to give them anything, nada, zip. Even Leo stated that we have a contract until 2005. After saying this, we will probably give them something, but our MEC chair has stated it would be a "loan." We understand that times are tough, and we are sure that Delta would like some extra money. But, when times get good again, and they will, we want it back. Is that wrong? No. It is interesting that Delta hasn't asked any of the other employees (16,000 flt attend, 10,000 mechanics, and other gate/ramp agents) for any pay cuts. We are the only major union, and have the only contract. We want this company to "thrive" and are currently having independent financial analysts looking over the books to see if we should participate. If we do, then we will give. Note that the company never said anything about extra furloughs needed, which is a good sign.
Our Dalpa leaders will look over everything and decide what actions we will voluntarily take.
That is except for the additional 50 to go on June 1st. When will these furloughs end, **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** with all the furloughs, all the normal rets., all the early rets, and now with concessions coming sure to be more early rets., all the over 60 guys gone, the war being declared over, force majure to end shortly, the usa pulling out of Saudi Arabia etc. etc. whats up. All I can say is they better not mess with the scope provisions, that would open an ugly can of worms i don't think we want to see.
