Okay one question pertaing to this incident: How come the emergency slide did not deploy when this iddiot opened the door?

Since the doors are amred when they are shut and they are only disarmed once the a/c is parked at the gate and the FA disarms them, and this guy jumped while the plane was taxing, wouldn't the slide deploy?

Don't know the incident, but if the guy knew enough to open the door, he could have easily disarmed it first. Door is marked 'arm' and 'disarm' usually.

Some overwings don't have slides too. Not sure about this jet.

It would help if the orginal poster posted a link to the news story or an NTSB report.

He would have had to know the door to disarm it, that part is not placarded at least on our 767, and yes it would have deployed...unless for some reason the door was not armed to begin with which might be kind of hard to explain...our overwing exits also have slides that travel out then aft....

Well since they are TAXING from landing, the doors WOULD be ARMED. Duh!!! The FA's dont disarm the doors until the A/C is parked at the gate.

The average passanger (and since this guy was iddiot enough to jump from a moving 767 he would qualify as the average passanger) would not know how to arm and disarm a door.

And the 767 has overwing slides.

Well, your last 2 posts qualify you as THE FRIGGIN' expert don't they. Why don't you read the whole thread and points made before you wade in?
