You're a little late off the starting block there, brightspark.

Further, while you may not agree with the man's policies or proceedures, are you truly gleeful he's dead?

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead...
Dude, you got issues. He was a super successful entrepreneur with huge successes in business. Yeah, regional pilots are paid like crap and that sucks, but that's just as much the pilots fault as it is the airlines. Wow, you're jacked up.....

Frank Lorenzo and Larry Risley were cut from the same cloth. I didn't agree with Lorenzo's "policies" either.

Where did you come up with this comparison?

Risley mortgaged his own house and car to start his business. Lorenzo manipulated the system so that he could use employee pension plans to finance his purchases. Risley took the risk with his own funds, while Lorenzo used shady business tactics to transfer the risk to others, innocent others btw.

Larry started with nothing and built something, Lorenzo started with something and built nothing.

I really think that your words constitute a cheap shot at a dead man, shame on you.

With that said, I worked for Larry Risley for two of his most profitable years. He said hello to me once outside HQ, but had no idea who I was or that I even worked for him. Larry was no Herb Kelleher, he didn't lead and he didn't reward with praise; but he danged sure wasn't Lorenzo.

Larry paid market rates for pilots, period. At the time, we were begging him for jobs. As much as I hate to admit it, I wouldn't pay more than market rate for a qualified pilot any more than Risley did. (I know, poor grammer, sorry) What I would do, would be to recognize that my people were in fact people. I think that Larry sometimes forgot that, and tried to treat people like airplanes. I won't be going to his service, nor will I shed a tear, but I can't just stand by and have people call him Lorenzo.

Probably will be a few dancing in the streets when Lorenzo and Ichan assume room temp...
