IMHO the best program is LogbookPro. http://www.logbookpro.com

Besides being easy to use for airline pilots, and creating the usual nice graphs etc. it has the ability to print a beautiful logbook that LOOKS like a typical Jepp Prof Pilot logbook and goes over really well in airline interviews. Some other log books I have looked at only print the log in forms that don't match what a interviewer is expecting to see (even if it is legal.)

logshare.com is a free web based service that works well.

Is there some way of backing it up just in case some apocalyptic event happens upon your computer?

logshare lets you download an excel compatable cvs file as a backup.

I am looking about buying Logbook Pro, but it is a bit "steep" in price. Maybe I will wait til the author posts a 15% or 20% discount for the forum users here again...
Not sure when that will be though.
