It looks like a name and paint scheme change, but are there others differences?

Thanks CR7

I'm completly ignorant about this, but I will put my wise crack in here anyhoo.

I believe the only difference is the name plate...

There are a couple of differences:

200 lb. max takeoff weight increase (available to 400's with stc paperwork)

wing anti-ice low announciator

sight gauge to check oil level....don't have to use dipstick anymore

That is about it......nothing major.....

Is the popular nickname "BeechJUNK" applicable to the 400XP too? How does it compare to an Ultra, CJ2/3 or Lear 40 in terms of performance? I've heard pax enjoy the Beechjet.

We don't refer to it as the beechjunk, we call it the BBJ....broken beech jet.

If it is run in a corporate setting.....not a fractional.....it is a good airplane. The cabin is very comfortable and it is a .785 airplane. It has about a 3.3 hr leg, but you quickly have to trade fuel for pax. Most of ours can only take 2 pax with full fuel, then you have to start cutting out some fuel.

More than 2 pax. and you have to start taking off fuel ??? Yikes ...

Comon with most light jets, unfortunately.

We are on our 2nd one and love them. The post RK-110 environmantals are MUCH better.

The mods were done prior to the name change.

Name change was done to align the aircraft with the marketing group. Hawker salesmen sell th 400XP to the Horizon, and the Beechcraft guys sell from the Premier to the Bonanza.

Data plate and type rating still say BE-40.

We're on a Learjet 31A which doesn't have quite the cabin of the Beechjet, but by the numbers being spit out it seems like the Lear is more flexible in terms of loading. For example, our BOW is around 11,300 wih Max TOW of 17000. It holds roughly 4100# fuel... What does the average Beechjet (er.. Hawker 400XP) yield in these terms ???

Excuse me, but I flew the Hawker 800's for a while and am having a hard time calling the Beechjet a Hawker... :)
