Are there any DHL Convairs in the US?

There is a convair doing the seattle vancouver run (the long flight). It is an AT aircraft, not in DHL colors though. After the CVG crash in a 580 that was in the old DHL colors they put a stop to it.

Air Tahoma never had authorization to paint their aircraft in DHL colors. N586P was bought from Swiftair(EAT), and came with those colors. DHL didn't put a "stop" to it, AT never had that privilage in the first place. That aircraft was destined for a FedEx contract, believe it or not!

I'm sure DHL was not happy about it being in their colors when it crashed... Air Tahoma never PAINTED an airplane in DHL colors, and that airplane was due to be painted overall white not long after the crash happened.

Didn't know they were going to send it to the pacific. To hear the budster talk about it at the time DHL was thrilled it was in their colors, until the crash of course. Of course I know what he says can vary from time to time. The next one they bought (587 I think) was painted white before it came out of the post buy inspection/ autopilot decomissioning. 586 was a really nice aircraft, powerful and fast with stuff that worked....kinda weird.

And I didn't say AT painted it. Just that the plane that crashed was in DHL colors. With the sh** storm after the crash apparently DHL applied sufficient pressure on AT so that no more aircraft were flown in their colors after they made the atlantic crossing.-kingaira90
