I know of a outfit that is looking to start up a PAX Part 135, in a Beech Duke it will have a new Garmin set, interior and paint this year (I know it’s still a Duke).

They need a 135 pilot who is insurance qualified to fly the Duke and help them write their GOM & Ops Spec. Need to have some 135 experience...I told them to find a freight dog who was tired of tired equipment. It's a single plane/single crew ops for now but in a year or so, they want to go to the Multi-crew /airplane 135. They are looking at turbine equipment as I write this.

If you get on now this would give you an opportunity to grow your flight department and get in on the ground floor. They cannot afford to pay you 45k to 90k, which is what Professional Pilot says, so don't ask. I was offered 30k but look at my flight time. I was tempted but got offered a turbine job at the same time. I went turbine. I know these people they are great folks and want to do this right the first time. They have money for the operation.

PM, post or email me if interested.

???

Did you not say a while ago that the owner dipped below MDA on approach and did not think anything of it?

I dont think that anyone in there right mind would want to get involved with this if there were to do a seach of your previous posts.

Glad to see that you were offered a job with something that burns the right kind of fuel. You will likely be happier in the long run.

Good memory...that wasn't the reason why I turned the offer down.

My long term goal is to fly international in the business scene. I would like to progress towards my goal. I get my first hour of jet time on Sunday which otherwise would not have been available had I taken this job posted. If my present employer hadn't offered when he did this conversation wouldn't be taking place and I would have taken it....the offer came after the incident.

BTW - I bet there are some skeletons in your closet and if I were to bank an opportunity on that and you were involved, I probably wouldn't touch it either. I always get things from the personal level and not on hearsay; that's why I appealed to the DFW area. If you need a flying job it would cost a tank of gas to come out and talk to them and see for yourself. You have nothing to lose but your time and sure as hell don't get in or out of airplane because it's written in these forums. That should be saved for the brains between your ears.

My dad (retired NWA 27 yrs AF 6 yrs) said aviation isn't something to fool around in that if you are unlucky, make a mistake and your lucky enough to learn from it you won't do it again. The owner ain't stupid and he learned his lesson. He needed to change his underware when we were done that day. He's not one of those who isn't willing to learn. (I learned a lesson that day.)

Life is a learning experience. As pilots we just happen to be on the edge of life more than the other 98% of Americans (...assuming you're from USA). I don't care what your experience level is unless you go to the edge you won't learn. If we don't then we'll become the hypocritcal pilot only flying when it's sunny and the wind is calm and enter a hangar conversation with all noble words of a aeronautical scholar but don't know crap! (I.E. = We can discuss icing until monitor shows smoke but until you've flown in ice you just don't know...)

Your turn.

Happy for you

I have a job.... good equipment... okay pay, could be better, but if it was.... what would I have to complain about? ;)

Flying a duke in the Mid Atlantic region under 135 does not sound like fun to me at all... super critical tail... lots of ice, and expensive maintenance.

I support your decision about taking the turbine job, and feel that you will be happier in the long run.... CONGRADULATIONS.

At this point in your career it is about the quality of time, and then the quality of life will fill in with more time hopefully.

Thanks! LB :) :) I am kinda pumped! :)

Duke isn't too bad here in the South Central we do get our ice days but none like what you guys get :) It's maybe an issue once/twice a year. I can't stand the ice....I can't see like I can other forms with precip on radar/strike finder/satalite ect. Even a thunderstorm you can see more and prepare for better than ice. :(

...that last statement do you promise? Geez ~ my wife hopes so! I showed her your quote from another post and she said Home Depot pay won't make it for what I put her through. I feel like Caddyshack rubing my putter (airplane) saying, "Billy, billy, billy, billy......don't fail me now." :D
