My wife threw my wallet in the wash with my pants. My Medical was in my wallet and is now in two pieces with a small chunk out of it. I have the flight portion of my initial MEI checkride tomorrow with an FAA inspector. He saw my medical during my oral. Is he going to let me take the ride? How quickly can you get a temporary medical?

As long as its legible, I'd tape it back together and use it.

I believe you can also contact the FAA and they'll fax you one, but God only knows how long that would take.

of course you need your medical - your PIC without an instructor.

If you can't get a replacement, just reschedule the 'ride - he will understand. If on the otherhand he finds out you don't have it, and plan on going anyway, he will most likely fail you.

A facsimile shouldn't take long to send. Just bother them long enough on the phone and you should get it real quick :)

Thanks for the replies. English, I signed up for the airman services and for some reason they only give me the option for a temporary pilot certificate and not a medical. I'll just call them tomorrow and see what I can do. Thank you.

I do have my medical, it is in two pieces with a small chunk out of it, I understand that I need it for the ride.

The temp auth includes your medical. Have it emailed to you, you'll see it in 10 minutes.

Trust me :)
