What provisions (if any) are there for a dependant during pilot training? i.e. What do I do with my wife while I train (UPT and beyond)? Can she live with me? Do I have to leave her at home for a year?
I had a couple guard guys in my class (97-10), one of whom was married - he got on base housing with his wife and kid. I don't know how the Guard normally works things, but pilot training is a PCS and active duty can bring their family with them. Even if it wasn't a PCS, or if they weren't going to pay for the move, you could bring your family, you just wouldn't receive the benefits associated with it (OHA, primarily).
For the year of pilot training and the follow-on aircraft specific training you are on active duty. That has all the same benefits as your "active duty" counter parts. So yes it is a PCS(paid move) and you can get on base housing for your family.
