A group of prominent Democrats asked President Bush to reconsider letting France, Germany and Russia bid on American reconstruction contracts in Iraq.

I wonder if they talked to the AFL-CIO on this one?

I would like to see the French, German, and Russian governments decide to do some reconstruction projects in Iraq, and foot the bills with their taxpayers money. Then, would American prime contractors be allowed to "bid" for those contracts with the French, Germans, or Russians? Hmmmm. Inquiring minds want to know....

One of the few things I agree with the current Administration on, concerning this whole Iraq mess. Our (and coalition) soldiers died for the cause and we (American taxpayers :( )will be paying for it. Why should Germany, France, et al be allowed a slice of the pie when they didn't ante up?

Good on the President ... I hope he sticks to his guns on this issue.

I believe the French will send help to the effort in Iraq, they will do a 180 now that we have Saddam and are questioning him. Some of the things we will learn of the French's questionable involvement with pre-war Iraq will be danming to say the least. You can bet Chirac will be more cooperative and less outspoken. I still think we should keep them out though. Spineless punk.
