Low taxes for the rich has been tried for 8 long years. Didn't work. Let's try to help the little guy for awhile.

"Low taxes for the rich", didn't have a thing to do with the crisis we are in. Lax lending standards (encouraged by Democrats and Republicans alike), a poor job by ratings agencies, poor regulation of the banking and securities industry, and Americans with a want it now mentality, regardless if you have the cash to pay for it, caused the crisis we are in. We are all to blame and the tax structure has nothing to do with it. Changing it however might have something to do with how and when we get out of this. Increasing taxes on anyone during a near depression is not a way to get out of it.

New Rules Target Private Aviation
There are new rules that are proposed by the transportation safety administration, part of homeland security, that would treat private business aviation identically to commercial aviation. One of the results of this could be that if the rules are adopted treating private aviation the same as commercial aviation, Tiger Woods, nor any other professional golfer, nor any or golfer could carry their golf clubs on their airplane because the baggage compartment in the private jet is accessible from the passenger cabin and the clubs could theoretically be used as weapons even though they never have been. So Tiger Woods, he's gotta deal with NetJets. He flies around on G4s and G550s wherever he goes. If this rule is adopted down the road, he won't be able to take his golf clubs. Certain destinations he'll be required to take an air marshal. Every one of his passengers will have to go through a background check. Their privacy will be lost. Air marshals will be required on certain routes based on destinations. Once you have submitted your passenger manifest, there will be no changes allowed 90 minutes before departure​
 
This BS power grab by the TSA started under Bush, and is now under Obama. It's a power grab by the TSA, not a democrat/republican issue.

The Dems would get more respect from me if they would reign the TSA in however........

I don't see anything that specifically points to user fees only an upgrade in the ATC system (which may imply user fees down the line) Now I can't imagine this link is for the entire budget for the department of transport probably only a summary. I can't seem to find the entire budget, I have a hard time believing that the "New Era of Responsibility" is only 140 pages. So I wouldn't put it past our lawmakers to slip something into the bill. BTW I find it interesting that the Earmarks that than Senator Obama pushed for are still in the budget but the executive branch has removed his name from them. So much for transparency.

R170 you beat me to it I was just about to post that article. So much for that but, according to the article these have been slipped in many yearly budgets' but not adopted. Looks like we have a good ally in Sen. Obestar. Time to start writing more letters I guess.

I was told on this board by Obama supporters that one of the reasons Bush sucks and I should support obama was that Bush was going to give us user fees. Th Annointed One would never do this.

GG, pilots are not that way. For some reason by in large they are dyed in the wool wingnuts. I have worked for three airlines and one fractional and the theme is always consistent: They complain about wages being cut, benefits going away, pensions getting robbed, CEOs and execs getting bonuses, contracts getting abrogated, "It's the Unions fault", and the list goes on and on. YET, they defend vehemently the various conservative institutions that 9 times out of 10 are the cause of their ills.

What most don't understand or worse, they thrust their coconut into the sand-is that it's not about repubs versus dems anymore. It's about dems and repubs, K Street, Wallstreet, the Banks, ruining this country. Folks we need change, it isn't going to happen when you got Limbaugh and the likes leading you around by your nose telling you what to think. Most of you that frequent this board are better educated then these types. More capable even. We got to learn to fix these messes ourselves.
