I am sure the board has looked at it. What I love about that article in PITTSBURG is the spin they have on the Jetblue "bullish" on the deal. I read that actual article yesterday on Yahoo, and Neelman also said if DELTA COMES OUT INDEPENDENT, JB thinks they would do ok since DL would be driven by profits rather than spite (in BK). Too bad the PIT press forgot to add that part. Hillarious.

Here is the USAtoday interview Parker did yesterday again for you:

US Airways will give up its proposed takeover of Delta Air Lines if management there can't be persuaded of the benefits, US Airways CEO Doug Parker said Tuesday.

Parker said Tuesday he's not prepared to fight Delta's management in bankruptcy court by submitting a merger plan to the judge without the backing of Delta's management.

"We have to get to a point where are all working together on this or it's not going to happen," Parker said during a meeting with editors and reporters at USA Today. "This is all about convincing Delta's management that this plan makes sense."

Grinstein also said yesterday "we are going to emerge BK as an independent, stand alone company."

Bye Bye--General Lee

I think Parker was betting on someone counter biding for Delta...Driving up the costs of the competition.

"Delta Air Lines Inc. Chief Executive Officer Gerald Grinstein said the bankrupt carrier's board will formally consider US Airways Group Inc.'s $8.53 billion takeover bid."

General,

That's a little different than "NO" as previously posted by you.

Isn't it?

YKW

The result will be a NO. Grinstein just posted yesterday that he wants an independent, stand alone carrier upon exiting BK. Can you see a "yes" inside that?

Bye Bye--General Lee

Grinstein is not in charge of the process it's the unsecured creditors and the judge. Grinsteins only move in this is the reorg plan that should be coming out this month, if the wheels fall off that cart the rocket going to get lit on this deal and it goes.

Everyone reading this forum can think of a dozen times management has gone on record saying one thing, and flip-flopping soon after.

Go ahead and keep thinking that. Grinstein has a great relationship with all of the creditors on the committee, and infact he brought Parker's original letter 2 months ago to the committe and back then they decided it wasn't right for DL. Why would Parker be making these recent comments (to USAtoday) if he didn't see the writing on the wall?

This one may be too big to just roll over or flip flop. We have a full campaign going, and it has gone on for awhile.

The result will be NO, just like your vote...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

:rolleyes:If this thing goes thru....it will be one UGLY place to work. Talk about BAD MOJO!! Hope it FAILS!!

Whats really interesting is how all of these intelectual pilots continue to fight with eachother. Hmmm....perhaps a move toward regulation might put more money in their pockets....Just a thought......Oh yea,,,,thats just the power in the numbers for RETIREMENT....Far be it from any mainline pilot to see the power in the MAJORITY.....This could bode well for Airline Pilots as a whole.....Perhaps we should just say thank you and be on our way.

Haughty General:

Grinchstein is irrelevant.

His opinion even about whether Biscoff should be offered on short flights still needs BK court approval.

Of course he wants a standalone DL, 'cause that's more gold to line his pockets, but his strong opinion has no bearing on the outcome of this deal.
