I think his mission is to get value for the Board of Directors. Since Delta's current plan is working I do not expect a drastic change. I think the way to look at this is augmentation of the current management, which is doing a good job. There may be a step away from some of the more generous outlays to Delta employees and a focus on being financially conservative, which should help Delta.
The balancing act will be costs v. service. Lorenzo had the lowest costs in the industry, went bankrupt three times and eventually got forced out of the business. For a network carrier like Delta, there is a lot more to the game than costs. Delta has to fix its' revenue more than its costs. The current management is doing a good job on that front.
For those on Flight Info the real questions are mergers and fleet plans. It is way too early to even have a guess.
