Word is that the Seahawks contract calls for a wide body. Thus no Vulcan 757 or Eskimos.

And, DL is the official carrier of the team. It said so at the bottom of the TV commercial that played in the local SEA market during the Super Bowl. I heard you guys may have bought a TV spot during the game in the Pasco Tri Cities area. Good for you!

True, the crew timed out due to the snow storm, de-ice, and typical EWR delays. Good news was MSP was in a straight line, and a 38 min turn. I'm glad they didn't bust the FARs....

General,
Do they normally position the A/C in the day of the departure or do they try to get into position the night before to avoid duty issues?

Well, it appears they positioned it that morning, maybe due to logistics dealing with the "Super bowl." This flight was out of EWR, not JFK where 767s might be available due to JFK being a base. Sounds like things were tough due to weather, de-ice, and EWR itself. The parade etc in SEA was 11am this morning, right? So, there weren't time constraints, and I'm sure any customer is aware that things happen, especially with bad WX and EWR involved. Gotta follow the rules...

The Village Idiot....what a huge embarrassment to the real professional pilots at Delta.

Very sad.

Whats really pathetic is the guy is not even a Delta pilot, yet he still is an embarrassment.

So true, very sad and pathetic indeed! And Jenny thinks we don't know that Mercyful is just another of his screen names so she can post to herself, like OysYoYo in the past, and what other screen names she has. Such a putz!

You are a broken record just like like the genital..You lack the ability to expand beyond the same ol regurgitated lame responses. Something tells me, that it really is you that is the alter ego of genital..

Well I'll take the high road and assume you're not just fanning the fire. No merger between Alaska and Delta yet. Something happened and it appears Delta and Alaska are having a bit of a tiff over Seattle.

Wow, you're not kidding, thanks for the answer. Looks like it was followed by lots of piss and vinegar. As a business customer I like Delta, American, and Alaska. Majority of flying on Alaska, very professional airline. Took a flight, surprisingly in the states, on an American 777 not too long ago, great experience. I'm hoping the merger with US is a positive.

I was about to ask if the east had learned the definition of binding arbitration yet, but I already know the answer and that would really degrade the discussion.

Cheers.

I saw on the news last night that they (DAL 8872) had to stop in MSP on the way to SEA for a crew swap cause of the delays out of EWR.

DAL planned that charter like a nine year old child. Does ATL - EWR - SEA sound like it's going to work - in the middle of a massive weather event ? Even on a good day, it sounds ambitious with EWR in the mix.

It will be interesting to see if DAL keeps these charters. This is one of of a number of disastrously planned charters for very high profile customers.

Rumor has it 15 extra 757s might stick around longer (not get parked) to do new charters for high profile Sports leagues. The A319s are good for certain sized teams, but others are requesting larger planes. Thanks for caring! And, the Seahawks actually made it to SEA, with no time constraints. Do you think the 2 hour de-ice in EWR mattered? What if it had been 3 hours? Instead, there was a 38 min turn in MSP. Good one Dicko, good one!
