As a result of rising fuel prices and a stagnant economy, Delta Airline Lines has decided to suspend pilot hiring for approximately 8 - 10 months. Our interview process has been suspended as of March 28th and our last pilot training class for the spring will begin on May 5th. Delta Air Lines continues to accept applications for pilot positions via Airline Apps, Inc. Applicants are strongly encouraged to update their application at least every 60 days. For questions, please contact pilot selection via email at [email protected].

Old news... this was announced a couple months ago.

Hiring will resume this fall for new aircraft deliveries, depending on how quick the SLI gets worked out.

NWA's voluntary leave program for DC9 pilots is more recent news.

Nice completely unrelated plug

Looks like my crystal ball is working. Hey new DAL/NWA hires....better start looking for a job. I hear that NWA is already asking for voluntary leaves of absences for DC-9 guys.

Lots of furloughs coming. I don't care how big your new airline is, you can't make money at $117/bbl.

737, you might want to get you app together. But then again, do you guys get some sort of flow back rights to ComAir?

I was thinking of applying to the Air Force. After all, based on some of your finest work here, its obvious they accept anyone!

In seemingly unrelated news, NWA also offered leaves in all of it's OTHER aircraft for the month of June.

No big deal. They're just trying to stem off the visit from Uncle BOB this summer, and graduation time is when he ususally comes to visit.

And to think, somewhere there's a horse missing its ass!

Heheheh, and to think? I am gonna use that phrase sometime too!

Getting ready for the summer! Might put the boat purchase off this summer. My good buddy just bought a 34' WellCraft. Better to know someone with a boat (Especially when It took 900.00 Dollars to fill er' up).
