Is it true? Delta is creating Song, all 757's ala Jet Blue interiors with $75 one way fare?

Where are the pilots comming from?

I don't know about the $75 fares all of the time, but the pilots will be mainline pilots rotated in on 3 or 4 day trips originating in their domiciles. They will still wear their Delta uniforms, and the flight attendants and ground people will be Song employees, wearing Song clothes. The savings in the deal will come from the better airplane (757) and better utilization of the planes. Initially there will be 36 757's in use, with up to 60 total possibly. There will be entertainment and the 757's will have lime green paint.

Bye Bye---General Lee:rolleyes: :p

where are the 757s comming from? DAL?? And will there be recalls?

Probably DAL planes! Don't think anybody will be out looking for planes now, have to use you own and keep them out of the desert.

...and the old 737-200's go back to DAL mainline.

Where has this guy (V70T5) been? This topic has only been on this board and in the news ad nauseum. There has even been a link to one of the old 737-200's back in mainline paint...

sorry, I don't live on this forum... Next time I'll check the archives before I ask a question... how far back should I check?? 2 weeks? 1 month? 3 months?

Sorry, didn't mean to insult...

but this is really old news. Hell I read about it 2 years ago in the Delta magazine on an Express flight from FLA to the NE! The only thing that changed since that article was the name.

Have a "happy" day!

no prob... I just don't have time to keep up with all the changes in this crazy industry. I'm getting fatigue on the issue, and its to the point where if you take a day off, two airlines file BK!

Delta pilots current in the 757 will be flying Song (no change in uniforms). The Song FA's and other employees will either be Delta transfers or "new hires" from Song; DAL obviously having first dibs.

It's true, they're refurbing all the 7-5's; gutting the seats and making everything one class. NO more first class over coach. The seats will be extremely high tech. All the new digital stuff, and latest audio technologhy...should be sharp.

The savings will come from efficient operations at the gate. They'll get in 7 flights on the line as opposed to six. The fares are down too, around $79.

They're pulling the 757's from mainline Delta; No recalls. They're flying Northeast to South point routes. Delta Express is no more. Song is scheduled to begin operations mid-April.

hopefully now everyone is 'in the know'
