Delta has pilot strike replacements in place

________________________________

" Delta Air Lines announced today that they have replacement pilots in place to take over flight operations if in fact the pilots union does go out on strike" Over 400 pilots based in India were promoted from Deltas reservation center in Mumbai , and recently completed an intensive 3 week training program to fly Delta jets.

Delta spokes person Raj Singh commented that “Delta is ready to keep flying, and there should not be any concern of safety or reliability from the traveling public. The training that these pilots received was all according to FAA standards and Delta even went farther by educating the new hires on US landmarks and geographical features so that the pilots will be able to converse with the passengers and point these out while in flight, so that its travelers will know the aircraft is on course

When asked about other employee groups supporting the strike, Singh replied that Delta has replacements lined up to take the place of flight attendants and mechanics, and even has red robed airport customer service agents in the wings.

Singh also commented that Delta will realize over 30 million dollars in cost savings with this move. The new pilots have agreed to a contract paying them a wage of $6.15 an hour, which Singh commented is more that triple the average wage for Indian workers.

Some of the new pilots were to have arrived last night to a Delta flight operation center in Charleston SC, last night, but were delayed until this morning. Apparently the flight landed instead in Charleston WV.

wtf? Is that real? What a sad day.

Come on now, that is fake. 3 week training? It takes 3 weeks to go over benefits they would probably lose during the next BK......

Oh good. Sorry that I am so stupid. Thank you for making me feel that way. I figured the nice big bathrooms would save delta. But I wouldn't put it past them, you know, having an army of "replacment pilots" ready to go if you do strike.

But hey, at least the lavs are nice.

Grab a hanky woman. If you think the FAA would allow that, then you are smoking the chronic. Relax.

I am relaxed. Don't you worry about me. Seems like you might have bigger things to worry about. If you would like to continue to offend me, you go right ahead, you are waisting your own job finding time.

People who fabricate these stories should be banned from the site. Seriously - this ain't funny. We are talking about people's careers and families in this case. Hope you got a good laugh you jacka$$...

It was funny.

It's called satire.

Though Stealth is right: wouldn't put it past any company management.

Laugh or cry? Yeah, that's good advice?!? Perhaps the author could mention that it is a fake at the end of the false story instead of completely misleading people...

Whats the problem?
You guys have well established second careers, right?
Because you're going to pack it in over 6 seats, right?

Don't worry, the satirical story is not too far from the truth. I'll bet if airline management had their choice, aircraft would be piloted via remote control by Indian computer geeks at less than $6/hour.

By the way, the story was sufficiently rediculous to not be taken seriously by anyone that actually read it.

You say that, but there are plenty of morons running around out there who would be more then happy to fly big jets for 6 and some change an hour. To top it all off, there are manangment type F^&kers out there who will hire them. They spent so much money making the lavs so nice, they have nothing left to pay the pilots.

You know it, I know it.

Delta.....Believe it.

Stopped you in your tracks. How about being nice to people someday. Instead of a bitter old, underpaid, disrespected professional. Just because I have agreed with less then 10% of everything that you have ever said doesn't mean you know anything about me. Here I kinda half a$$ed read the original post, then expressed CONCERN for YOUR pilot group (which includes you), and you come back with that crap. Regardless if it's a true story or not,we know that it is not. NWA had a whole line of mechanics come in and work when thier folks were on strike.

Think it's you who needs to step back and realize that we are all pilots, and we all need to preserve the profession. Not to mention that there are other pilots and pilot groups besides you and yours.

If you wanna be a ____, you go right ahead and be one. History has shown that you are good at it.

bye bye ---Stealthh21

It is great to enjoy something you do, and this is a hobby for me. When I am at home and the wife is at work, I look at the different forums out there. I have been on this board for more than 5 years, and I answer all of the responses I get. So, yet, I have the most posts.

As far as being nice, I am nice. I told you to relax after you believed that initial post about the Indian replacements. That was ridiculous. You need to get a backbone, especially on this board. I should know, I get slammed daily, and if I took everyone of those seriously, I would need major therapy. I honestly don't care what people think about me. I just enjoy the debating and gather info when needed. Words to live by.

Maybe you can agree to fly them for 19 seat rate??

It not flame bait Vicky, either you need the job and you will throw it way for 6 seats or you don't. If you don't need the job, then walk.

95% voted to authorize a strike. If we eventually have the contract thrown out and do strike, then we will all walk. IF 95% of the pilots don't like the job and walk, no more airline, and no more DCI.

Simple then, forget everything else and walk over half a dozen seats. It doesn't matter what the strike vote is. Spend more time at your second careers.

But if you do need this job, and I'm sure most do, then it seems pretty pointless to do so. I'm not thrilled at the larger equipment at our rate either, but I know today is not the time to battle. Maybe in a couple of years. With the state of your company, you are showing up to a nuclear war with rubberbands.

Well, as comical, satirical and sad as this post is, I have to agree with some of the other, more informed posters. I interviewed with Republic Airways last winter. In the waiting room with me were three flight attendants, all stated they had just come from Northwest, however none of them had flown. Hmmmm, so I asked more questions.... In fact, they were all trained over seas, and had been living in Japan, awaiting the possible strike, ready to operate the lucrative wide bodies back to the states, merrily pouring drinks and offering warm towels. Believe me, a scab force is out there and available. Never forget the silver bullet in our industry: There is always a line of pilots behind you, ready to jump in your seat for less or no money.

You see, we will walk off for a half dozen seats. While I understand that you and your co workers are willing to work harder for less (your 70 seat a/c for 50 seat rates) but that's where our group has drawn the line in the sand.
If that's too hard for you to understand, then you really need to go back to teaching turns around a point sparky!

Those rubberbands could melt the company. I think we have the leverage, since management and the creditors want to cash out with new stock. They do, and you won't acknowledge that. The costing for the supposed givebacks (supposedly $280 million a year) did NOT include any scope changes. So, it won't cost them a dime to keep it at 70 seats. I don't think a vote will pass without that, and they need a contract to get exit financing.

While I understand what you say and hope that you return here soon, I just don't think they could replace us fast enough if we struck. So, that would mean they will negotiate again if they want their gold buckets at the end of the rainbow. Would you take the first offer from a car salesman? I wouldn't. I think we can still do better. I hope you come back soon.
