Saw a brief, one line entry on Avweb that says Delta is recalling 1000 pilots. Is this true? Good news if it is.

Out of curiosity how many pilots have been furloughed by the varius majors and nationals? how many have been recalled?

RECALL SCHEDULE: ONE FURLOUGH A MONTH FOR THE NEXT 80 YEARS- or until we start teleporting people - which ever comes first.

I spoke with a DL pilot today. The company still wants to furlough another 60, the contract (from what he said) is unclear on the issue of recall. They still have negative cash flow and seem to ahve enough staff to cover their flights, so I can guarantee that there will be a fight over it.

I think you have your wires crossed a bit. There are 60 pilots who are not protected by the no furlough clause, and they may be deciding what to do about them. There has been no talk about furloughing another 60.

We have recalled 250, and trust me Delta would not furlough another 60. If it was going to happen the numbers would be much higher than 60. The negative effect on the pilot group would not be worth 60 jobs, when they are trying to get concessions.

I by no means say that I know what is going on at the fourth floor, but I am certain the talks are not about furloughing another 60. We got info today stating that the company is trying to work out the recall. What that will entail, go ahead and guess, becuase it will be about as accurate as any other rumor I have read.

As far as the last 60 of us that are not protected, I for one don't think I will be back for a long time.

I had dinner the other night with a guy I know who reads a lot of financial news, and he looks at me accross his spaghetti and says "so, I hear Delta is calling back a bunch of pilots. I guess that's good for you, huh?"

I explained to him that it probably meant nothing to me as a pilot, but it would be great if it comes true.

So, this must be floating around out there as a blurb somewhere on the news...

I think they were "recalled" to ASA, Comair, XJT and Mesa.

Nope, they (the 250) were and will (the 1000(+60?)) be recalled to Delta Air Lines.

Some were hired by ASA.

Comair...that's funny. Do a search..

XJT...know a few ex-CoEx that applied but don't know of any that went back.

Mesa? Haven't heard of any going there either...
