Depends on your qualifications, LOR, if someone has walked your stuff in, etc.
How long is the whole interview process?
One day if you are not successful, and two if you get past the testing and interview.
Whats a ballpak time frame from when you get hired to the start of training?
It is currently running from a few days to about six weeks. There is no rhyme or reason as to when you will go to class. They want a certain mix and they will put you were you best fit.

This is where the new hires are going. There are over 500 openings on all of these airplanes combined.
Will letters of reference from current Delta Captains and retired Captains help?
Very much so. They will get you looked at. If you have a few on file, they will pull your app. If all looks good you get the call. If you do not have them then you are in Air Apps limbo, and there is not telling how long it will take for them to look at your app.
