I think most of the guys are like that at Delta. Several months ago, I ran from the C to A comcourse in ATL at about 1:00 in the morning to try to catch the last (and delayed) flight to TPA. I got there 5 min prior to the push time and they were closing the flight. The gate agent asked why I wasn't there earlier, but I was too out of breath for a smart aleck retort. In a huff, she went down the jetway and after several minutes, I figured it was a lost cause. When she came back, she told me to fill out a form and get on (still in a huff).

The captain never said so, but I am certain he told her he wouldn't push without me and the flight left late. This was during the time when Delta was really making a press for on-time departures. I thanked him profusely and he just smiled and said "no problem".

Thank to all Delta guys.

I wonder if I'd get the same treatment from Chuck yogurt/Lawmaggot?

I think most of us in the business know how tough commuting is. We pilots need to take care of each other. Nobody else is going to do it. Fly safe
