skip CFI?

If you had an opportunity to go straight to the regionals with very low flight time and skip being a flight instructor is that a wise decision?

I was wondering if anyone can help with my research project?

1) An internet message board for pilots (that does not necessarily consist of pilots) does not makes for an even slightly scholarly source.
2) Not even considering that, the answers you receive are likely to come from those not from the sources you are looking for...and many with a dog in the race to sway public perception from what is actually occurring.
3) If you really want to know what actual pilots from specific airlines are thinking, get your lazy butt to an airport and talk to ACTUAL DL mainline or NW mainline pilots in mainline uniform...and do it ALL DAY LONG to get a large sample of the vast # of opinions you will get within the same group of pilots.
4) Where have you been for the last 2 yrs? 1 post after 2 yrs?

Instructors fail lazy students that don't attempt to even use proper sources, especially those who write in lazy text msg style.
Get to the airport.

Yes, but it is not worth many of the pay for training "opportunities" out there. Many have paid tens of thousands of dollars for programs that were cancelled when the hiring window closed at the regional airline.

I say you should go to the regional. There are many people that were hired at the regionals with low time in the late 90's. Most of them went on to bigger and better jobs at the Majors or LLC. Not having PIC instructor time does not hurt you long term.

What does this have to do with DL/NW?

i know i messed up and tried to change the title. This is my first thread.. i thought you can change the topic title but i guess not... i wish i can delete this at least.

No reason to. Do not worry about it. It got the responses that you wanted

What is your background/total time?
Have you been hired at a regional?

i have 235 hours(no multi) which is very little of course but i heard piedmont is hiring for 250 hours with little multi but i don't know how true that is. and i don't know if piedmont is a decent regional to work in.

You probably can't even get a job flying skydivers in a C182 with that flight time. If Piedmont will hire you, who cares if they are a decent regional or not. You could always leave to a "decent" regional after building some multi-engine turboprop time at Piedmont. Just make sure you can pass training.

And that guy instructed for 2 years... Good luck man. Your 1st 121 training event is much more difficult than anything you've done in your training to date.
