Neeleman wasn't fired for some unknown reason. During the Valentine's Day Massacre, Barger was on a plane when the doodoo hit the fan. So Neeleman runs to Ops and starts "fixing" everything. It took a week to get back on track...

Yes, but you guys are getting really nervous obviously. Neeleman was kicked out for some unknown reason, and the executives create a "change of control" clause to save their future butts. Sure, your other employees have one too, but I bet that could all be changed and the executives have better lawyers and will keep theirs. I bet you will be watching the airline news closely for awhile.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Yeah, but at least he tried. Is it the CEO's job to run to ops and try to fix things himself? Of course not, there are people already in position for that. Or there should be. One of the biggest problems I've been told with JB's 2/14 debacle was that the system just couldn't handle it.

People like Dave Neelman, Herb Kelleher, etc. would do something like that because they have a passion for their company. The company they built from the ground up.

You think Kellner, Carty, Grinstein, Arpey, or any of those guys would even let that news at their respective airlines shave even a point off their afternoon golf game if they got the call on the 3rd hole?

No one seems to be commenting on the fact that T-5 is being built with no FIS facilities and maybe two gates that can accomodate wide-bodies. Seems that would make it rather useless for Delta.

Have you not laid eyes on the average American these days, or for that matter the average Legacy captain?

We are STEEPED in wide-bodies in the back of jetblue planes. And sometimes even up front.

Defending jb from your new perch at luv ... you truly are a giver.

You got that right! In all seriousness, I did really like working at JB. And I did like DN from the two times I met him. But he's clearly much better at raising capital and thinking up long-range tasks rather than nut-and-bolts operations. I think making Barger CEO was a great move. Hopefully, JB will make a great rebound, and be able to shake off any predators...
