Just curious where the new guys are going. Thanks for any info!

Most newhires are getting MD88 or 737-800 in either LGA or ATL. Keep in mind you can bid off these aircraft relatively soon and bid international 767-300ER out of JFK eventually if that floats your boat...

Is ATL any more difficult to get than JFK?
Thanks! I appreciate the info!

Newhires usually get half and half. Lately there has been a mix of MD88 and 738 for both JFK and ATL. I was told a few classes ago 4 people got 757/767 DOM in ATL, which is amazing. We are very short on 757/767 INTL FOs in JFK especially, and we have bids almost every 2 months it seems. If you would like to fly INTL from JFK on the 767, it could be yours very soon. The other bases (SLC, LAX, CVG) can be attained within a few bids (SLC quickly on the MD90 or maybe the 738, with LAX on the 757/767 coming within a year, and CVG within 15-18 months I would think). JFK seems to be our junior base, followed by ATL, SLC, LAX, and CVG (downsizing).

Bye Bye--General Lee

How important is it that your internal recs are sent via the delta.com address. I have had a few pilots write me letters, but none of them even knew what thier company e-mail address was so the just sent them via their personal accounts. Are those letters even going to get noticed?

Not important at all. We had the guy who owns AirlineApps come into our class and he asked us how he could improve the site. During the session we asked him why the big emphasis on the Delta.com email address? He said it was basically a ploy by Delta to get their pilots to use the company email system. The plan failed. No one seems to use it. And he said it truely makes no difference to Delta Air Lines.

PS - I had one internal letter of Rec and the guy used his Earthlink address, not his delta.com address.
