Haven't heard much about people failing the medical. Does it happen? How thorough is it? EKG?

It is a very thorough physical. Yes, there is an EKG, plus blood works, plus a hearing test in a hearing booth. Some guys do not pass. But think of it this way, if you do pass it, you probably won't die soon. Just make sure you don't drink a lot of caffiene before hand, but still drink a lot of water so you aren't dehydrated. After all of that then you have to go talk to a shrink. Good luck.
