Can anyone tell me how the loads look for four off-line Zed riders on Thurs 07-17 from MAD-JFK or MAD-ATL (on Delta)? Our loads filled up in the back and they (US) won´t put us on in a wide-open first because my step-son isn´t 12... So, trying to get creative getting home. Thanks.

Oversold in the back by about 20-30 on both flights. Both have about 20-30 seats open in Biz though....doubt that many will be upgrading, definitely not a sure thing.

How old is your son?

Delta non-rev policy is that kids have to be 8 or older to ride in Biz. I assume that applies to Z-fares, as well, although I could be wrong.

I may be wrong, but except for very elite passengers using miles on qualified fares etc, Delta does not upgrade to biz class on international flights, so if its oversold in back and wide open up front then the chances are fairly good you'll get on in my experiences.

That would be good if they were using a buddy pass. Zed is another story. Normally ZED's are just issued for coach. I've only used them twice (on AA) and each time I was automatically put in the back (no standing by for biz or first even though there were seats).
