When are you going to pony up and get unlimited jumpseats like the rest of the airlines? It's getting really old taking a few Delta guys out of say Salt Lake and getting them home, only to be left behind when I try to jumpseat later that night. 60 seats open and one other jumpseater. It is getting very old. I keep hearing that it's coming. So WHEN!!!

P.S. I am more annoyed with the snoring fat hag in recliner now then anything else.

Let me ride too, what about allowing more CASS carriers to participate? Getting left at ATL without body armor sucks!

Whatch you talkin' 'bout Willis? Some INSANELY hot chics get stuck in ATL.

Dude....uncrimp yourself...

I'm sure that being in BK, the Delta pilots have bigger fish to fry right now. In all my years in this industry, I have yet to see any pilot group go into negotiations with J/S access being the number 1 complaint. Pensions, pay/benefit cuts and BK judges, shareholders, and creditors, all wanting more....no doubt it is hot over there right now.

I have no worries about the Delta pilots eventually getting unlimited J/S....it will happen....just not on your timetable....

Don't wanna take Delta guys on your J/S? Then don't....they are always welcome on mine...

Tejas

Tejas is right on. If you gripe everytime you don't get on then you have not planned enough. Doesn't matter if whoever has unlimited jumpseats, if for whatever reason the Capt says no or the gate says no, sorry no seat for you.
By the way, Delta does have multiple J/S with several airlines. If yours is not one of them, check with YOUR coordinator about working it out with them.

We currently have unlimited with AA, SWA, Alaska, CAL, NW, and Jetblue. On Jan 1st we will add USAir and United. Get in touch with your jumpseat coordinator and see if he can work with ours to get something done.

(sarcasm turned on)
But if you don't gripe then how can you justify coming right home, jumping on your computer and bashing another carriers (insert any policy)!
(sarcasm off)

It would be nice to see American offering unlimited JS. Just a wish...it makes life a lot easier, and it doesn´t cost the airline a fortune to carry an extra jumpseater in an empty seat once in a while.
My airlines DOES offer unlimited to everyone, by the way.

I see you fly the 737... who are you with? Last I checked we offer unlimited jumpseats to most US 737 airlines out there.

You do not have unlimited with CAL. I just got bumped trying to go from AUS to ATL for a football game last weekend and I had to buy a 70.00 dollar ID-90 at the last minute with several open seats left. So quit the B/S. This is getting old. The agent stated several times that only AA and SWA have unlimited. When was CAL added? When was NWA added? I look forward to my domestic 4 day next month on the 757 flying from several FL destinations to EWR. I hope I get to speak to the many DAL jumpseaters about this unlimited thing. BTW, I was very nice to your agent and just went to our counter and bought an ID-90 and proceded to the next flight.

so do guys at AA and DAL (and other non unlimited js carriers)not burn a pass if they know there are open seats and see an offline pilot trying to get a ride?

I thought this was just an unwritten rule. Just wondering.....

I´ll double check with my JS coordintator, but about 3 or 4 months ago I showed up at the gate and was told, NO IT´S TAKEN, BYE. Maybe they changed it or the gate agent was in one of those days.
I´m with cactus, so if anyone knows if we can, let me know.
Thanks

Unfortunately I DO live in ATL, but I don't and won't learn ho speak. If you have a question about my post, by all means ask away but I have no idea what is posted above.

PA-22,

Unfortunately, Cactus is still limited to one jumpseater (or two, if the aircraft has 2 jumpseats.) However, USAirways is unlimited, so I would expect you guys will be unlimited as soon as the merger is complete. Sorry we couldn't hook you up on your flight, this will soon change.

its funny how people can even find a way to complain about free rides. Most other employees have to pony up so a free ride is better than paying for your ride even if you don't always get on. Its the airlines option to have unlimited jumpseat or not.

Complaining about free rides is one thing... but the fact is that most of us pile on as many bubbas as we can, but they only carry one. What's fair is fair.

Pain in the butt keeping that ID90 current while at the same time I'll go out of my way to get as many guys home/to work as possible.

If your that passionate about it your jumpseat policy should only allow unlimited jumpseats to those who provide it. Whats fair is fair after all. Unlimited jumpseating is a privledge not a right.

Aren't we worth it??

Why do so many people feel so lucky that we save a few bucks by jumpseating? "Other employees have to pay..."
I think that's the least we could receive after delaying our hiring by the airlines by going (most of us) to college, flight school, working our way up until we finally get in. Then we lose out when we nonrev to the lav-dumper who is senior to us after he fell out of high school and got hired.

No problem, thanks for the info. I just JS on you guys couple of days ago, and was great, thanks.
We all need to understand that this is one of the few great benefits we still have, if we don´t take good care of each other here, our management is not going to do it for us. Hopefully one day we´ll all be unlimited.

Are you CAL or Express? Yes, Delta does have a flow back jumpseat with CAL. Next time an agent tells you that, politely ask her/him to click on the DeltaNet right there on their screen, click on flight ops, then click on jumpseat information, then click on flowback list.

As of today (I'm looking at the list right now, the list is dated today 11/2/06) Delta offers unlimited jumpseats to the following airlines:
Alaska
America West
American
American Eagle
ASA
Chataqua
Comair
Continental
Freedom
Northwest
Shuttle America
Skywest
Southwest
US Airways
United Airlines

I was under the impression we also had it with JetBlue but they are not on this list as a flowback...perhaps somebody can chime in with the start date? Otherwise there is an error on the list that needs to be corrected for JetBlue.

I was looking at the list yesterday, and only SW and AA were listed as flow back.
If he was trying to get on before today, I can see why the agent said no.
I was surprised that there were not a lot more airlines on the list. The list dated 11/02/06 is what I thought were the agreements for at least the last month.

That is where the problem might be, the list in the computer. I had a gate agent pull up the list and JB was not on it. This was the day after we got the email message from the DAL J/S Coordinator. We showed it to her and she was very nice but could not pull anything up for JB. We were able to get on but if the Gate folks don't have the correct info then it might be a communication issue. Should work out eventually I would guess.

Umm General, you're wrong! I got left behind in ATL a few weeks ago and a 757 (Song config.) left with 1 CAL jumpseater and 20 open seats bound for EWR. As a CAL I have written to my jumpseat coord. I also spoke to the CA and FO of the very flight I was trying to jump on and they had spoken to the "duty pilot" for that day in which they said I was S.O.L. Recently I sat up front on a 757 from BOS-ATL and asked the CA about that in which he pulled our his FOM and sure enough only AA, and SWA have unlimited flowback for jumpseat. Jblu was just added.

Cheers

Dude, this may just be a list of approved CASS carriers for you guys but the agent showed me in the computer system that only SWA and AA have been approved for flowback. I also read it in the CA's FOM.
