Hey Delta Guys, I'm looking to go JFK-AMS next week. I know CASS won't get me overseas, but do you take jumpseaters in the back internationally? Are your gate agents familiar with it? I just don't wanna get stuck...thanks for any help!

good luck finding a ticket agent over there who knows what they're doing when it comes to jumpseating. they'll probably figure it out after the flight pushes and you have time. Try to find an actual Delta employee to do it and not a Servisair contract employee.

Make sure you check in AT LEAST 75 or 90 minutes (can't remember) before go time to get "passport listed". If you don't do this, you won't get on, PERIOD.

You can usually do this at the international customer service desk.

Cpt. Oveur, that's exactly what I'm concerned about...thanks for the quick reply, guys. I'll give the Intl. Service desk a shot, a free ride is worth a shot!

Actually those gate agents over in Europe are more knowledgeable about this jumpseat stuff than you give them credit for. You just have to use different terminology if they don't understand jumpseat. Try "Staff travel" sometimes, it kinda rings a different tone to them for some reason. Be patient with them, and early (at least 90 min. before dept).

Last time i was at a small European station, with a contract employee, it took them 10 minutes for me to stand in line to clearing custom. Your mileage may vary.

Happy Trails.

Delta intl jumpseating

Just came back from a trip to Stockholm. Jumpseated over from ATL with my spouse, we are both dispatchers. It worked excellent. Coming back from Stockholm was a little bit trickier though, but that's just because STO just opened as a DL station and the staff is not yet up to speed on JS procedures. They were very helpful though. We have also been through AMS and that was no problem at all. Just remember you have to be at the gate 75 minutes before departure!

Thanks Delta for being so accomodating to JS:ers!!
