DAL 737FO,

Grinstein is going to restructure Delta one way or the other.

Your missing the big picture.

We will all find out in late June/July.

Actually I've been keeping up with the big picture quite well. I know that GG is going to try and get what he wants either through section 6 or BK. I think that a lot of people believe that once a company goes into BK it has carte blanche to do as it wishes. This is not the case.

Since you obviously HAVE the big picture why don't you enlighten me as to what it could hold. You see we have already farmed out 50% of our flying through our liberal scope clause that ASA and Comair pilots find so offensive. We also have a large chunk of flying being done via codeshare agreements. About the only thing we have't really given up on is the pay and we've offered up approximately 15% of that. Only time is going to tell how this is all going to pan out.

I'm still keeping my day (or night in my case) job.

RJCAP,

First of all, Grinstein said he would have the plan done in AUG now, and he also said at the CVG meeting that he would honor recalls if they came. But, he and Dalpa will negotiate the number--and that could 30-50 a month. It won't be crippling like all 1060 at once. We also should be having 250-300 senior Capt's retiring around June 1st due to the rising GATT rate. With interest rates climbing also ( The Fed will probably raise them soon due to inflationary fears)---the GATT rate probably won't be as low as it is for a couple years---and the lower the Gatt--the higher your lump sum payout. What I am trying to point out is that there will be a shortage of pilots this Summer.

Also, I just read an article from ALPA National that said that they feel that we will probably work out a concession plan with management AFTER we see the "plan"-----so I bet it will be a good one and with Dalpa fighting for the current furloughs----one that won't include any additional layoffs---which would be hypocritical. Also, expect more people to retire after any agreement--like those who are just riding the FAE wave with the current pay scales.

Bye Bye--General Lee;)
