I would think that by operating Endeavor at current rates delta will more than make up for the money it paid for the purchase of the airline.

Pinnacle was almost making a profit in bankruptcy and that was with almost all of the Colgan pilots sitting at home making base pay untrained on a CRJ, Sending 140 pre merger Mesaba CRJ 200 pilots through almost full training again for an aircraft they were already qualified to fly (why not wait and just do a two week course when the fences went down instead of the 90 day course?), and the high amount of money Pinnacle was paying out to law firms for the bankruptcy itself. Some had said that without paying the law firms, Pinnacle would have been making a profit-and that was before our huge cuts in pay and QOL. Figure it out, Delta was very slick in all of this-their 70 million they spent most likely has already been made back.

88 717s start deliveries this month.
100 737-900s start in the next couple months.
DC 9s almost all gone...5 left I heard?

Only fleet reductions announced are 10 757s going away by this time next year.

Without factoring in retirements, these growth planes will drive for more pilots. Small narrow body categories today are paying out huge overtime due to lack of crews.

Some ray of sunshine from another airline will be along to start a urinary Olympiad over whether or not we park more jets than what is announced, but overall, the tap just got turned on for hiring.....expect full flow hiring really soon. I'm done being pessimistic and I think we have turned a corner.

We were hiring 90 a month in 99 and 2000 I remember....so we can handle it....I think Sim time will be the limitation going forward.

Hey, Bill was spot on!

Is it true that Delta prefers to hire mid time guys? I keep hearing rumors that guys like me with 10,000 hours or RJ experience aren't going to be competitive because they think it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
Please tell me this isn't true!

If you have 10000 hours in that EMB120 I don't know how you can hear anything at all!

I hadn't heard that.

I Do know HR now picks the candidates who get an invite and that may have something to do with it.

I did hear you should emphasize community service on your app and in the interview. What that has to do with flying the jet, I don't know, but play by the rules they set and you may get the call. Good luck!!
