It's OK to be a member of WIA, OBAP, or the NGPA, but start a straight white pilots association and see what happens...

Ok, I gotta say something about this. I don't give a frog's fat a$$ if you white boys want to start a white pilot's association. I actually thought you already had one........called EVERY FRIGGIN AIRLINE OUT THERE WHERE YOU ARE THE MAJORITY! As for Women in Aviation, guys can be in it.

Sorry--

didn't mean to imply YOU are a religious freak. Bad example, probably.

A double minor. Wow. It take my comment back.

I will not argue over the "I know is wrong" comment except to say, how do you know? I don't find any personal appeal to same sex relationships (2 hot chicks, of course, excluded), I just don't get bent outo f shape by it.

But, to the main point. So, you say that what really gets your goat is the company spending money on this crap while we all wither on the vine, am I correct? Granted, that is irritating. Does this mean that if (hypothetically) the company showed us how much $ it MAKES from sponsoring these events then you would have no problem with it? That's all it is...$$$? If we got 20 more aircraft to run 40 trips a day between Hellanta and "gayland" (some hypothetical gay city), and that meant upgrade and pay improvement and growth etc etc, would you be against it?

Just wondering.

Have a good one

Basically that is where I am getting at. Furthermore, I really think that most advertising in the Airline Industry is stupid to begin with. I highly doubt that someone watches an AA commercial only to decide right then and there that they want to go somewhere.

The average Leisure traveler cares about one thing and one thing only. Price. And maybe to a slightly lesser degree the most direct flight. They could care less about anything else. So AA sponsering a Gay Pride event is not going to generate enough revenue for it to make a difference in the first place.

That as well as the fact that I as well as other people have a problem with my company sponsoring such an event in the first place. If you wanna get it on with naked males behind close doors then fine. You have every right to do so and no one can stop you. Why do you need a parade celebrating the fact that you like male a$$?

BTW, when I state "you" I dont mean you Cardenal I mean the gay population in general.

Cardenal:

Would it be inappropriate to ask if you are in fact, gay, or transgendered?

Do you have children?

I submit to you that 13 year olds are not sufficiently well developed to evaluate their sexuality and that adults telling them it is "good to be Gay" has the potential to cause great harm, to the child and to the family.

Whether or not you agree with conservative parents, do you really feel that it is Delta's core mission to fund openly gay adults who choose to volunteer their time to talk about their sexuality with children? If that is Delta's mission then it needs to go ahead and get out of the airline division that is losing Billions.

The debate as to whether being gay is a choice, or the result of some other factor, has been going on for centuries and probably will not be objectively concluded in our lives. I am not sure it matters. Adults have the right to chose their partners, children don't. It is not Delta's function to cross that line.

And really, why does it matter? If a person is Gay and proud, why insist that it is something that happened through chance and not a decision to be proud of?

If Delta were to show an objective cost benefit analysis, I might be in agreement with the program, as long as the book tour for "Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star" and "Youth Pride" were canned. Those two programs are wrong on so many levels that it is astonishing that any public company would be associated with them.

Dangerkitty--

I forgot to answer the other question.

There is a fundamental moral difference between the KKK, or Nazi politics (both pretty much based on the belief that I am better than you, and hate you so very, very much I'll have to kill you) and the gay people (or whatever) who say "we want equal rights" or we want to be recognized and respected" or whatever. One says "I want to enslave and kill you" and the other says "let me be who I am".

BIG difference, don't you think?

Bye,

Cardenal

Gay Pride Parades are not a beaten down group trying to obtain equal rights. I have had the misfortune of being in New York during a Gay Pride Parade. It was more along the lines of lets see how in your face and disgusting we can be without being arrested. Or lets tout the fact that these straight people better accept us for what we are or else!

You can be gay and have pride all you want. I dont have to like it. I dont have to agree with it, and I dont have to accept the fact that my employer sponsors such events.

As far as the KKK example goes. How about another example? What if AA or DAL decided to be a big sponsor for a really really big NRA convention. Some Liberals think that the NRA is Satan himself reincarnated.

I for one grew up hunting and continue to do so to this very day. I am a member of the NRA and support many of their causes. If a Liberal or someone who doesn't like the NRA complained or disagreed with the use of funds then they have ever right to do so. I wouldn't agree with their opinion and maybe let them know that they were a little misguided but I would never call them names such as bigot just because I didn't agree with them.

The whole diversity thing is a sham and does nothing buit divide. but thats where "diversity" comes from is from divide right? I get exremely tired of the whole mantra of diversity and "it makes us stronger". It's a bunch of crap that gives the pols one more tiing to get up in their bully pulpit and lecture us why need them to save us from ourselves when it does nothing but servefurther inflame any tensions there.

Why do we all come in to this forum? We're all involved with aviation to one degree or another. It's what we have in common that brings us together so to speak. What we have in common makes us closer. You have friends based on what you have in common with that person. Comradeship in the military is based on the same thing. It's what you have incommon with your buddy.

So far as the arguement about being gay at birth due to genetics.... the arguement doesn' wash. If this were in fact the case, the gene would die out since there are not enough gays out there having kids to make it a viable genetic pool. Academia will have to better than that.

While homosexuals don't need to be treated any different than others, the very idea does make my skin crawl and I don't care for it being broadcast to the world, that it's okay. My kids see that stuff.

Fins:

Of course it's inappropriate! But I don't care. No I am not gay or transgendered. The fact that I defend a cause does not mean I am personally involved in it. For example, though not black, I abhor racism. Yes, I have kids.

Dangerkitty - get a life.

Great argument there. I would hate to match wits with you.

Just another example of a typical liberal that doesn't enjoy statements counter to what the "thought police" are advocating.

Come back when you can squeak out at least some type of contructive debate.
