That is good news. I have heard we will supposedly get 10 more 777s by 2010, for a total of 18. If they all are the LR versions, that will mean a lot more pilots will be needed to fly those long flights to Shanghai, Hong Kong, etc.

Bye Bye--General Lee

I have been hearing even more than 18 if they can get deals on used ones. I hope that this is true. Time will tell.

I was on the jumpseat from JFK to ATL yesterday and the Captain is a friend of the NYC Chief Pilot, Ax. He was shown a printed document that Delta was going to have a total of 28 777's by 2010. I don't know if this is true, I am just passing along the info to stir the pot.

VHHH....hmmm? Have they even applied for this service? Had it once upon a time back around 92 as I recall. Gave it up after about 2.6 years of service.

Affirm. I heard that the decision for the '08 slots should come sometime this month. According to runor, it was Delta's to lose.

Any rumors of 787?
thx
I would say doubtful...it has taken Delta years to reach an agreement with the pilots just to fly the 777. Unless the pilots and management have had a change of heart in the last few years, who knows if they could reach an agreement on the 787 in a timely fashion. I guess time will tell but the 787 does seem like the jet most of the airlines want.

The part of our contract which allows the pilots to refuse to fly an airplane until an agreement is reached is gone. Besides that, the current MEC is a bunch of pussies who will give the company what they need for any new airplane. I would put the chances of pilots interfering with the order of a new airplane at zero.
