On the aviation employment board there is a post for DeltaAirElite, Delta's frac. owner program, they need pilots apparently ...looks like they have some good a/c. Don't know anything about them.......anybody got the lowdown? www.airelite.com

First Officer

Pilots interested in applying for a First Officer position with Delta AirElite must meet these minimum qualifications:
  • Minimum qualifications for First Officer's are 2000 hours total time including 1000 PIC fixed wing, 200 hours multi-engine fixed wing.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP).
If you meet these qualifications and are interested in this position, please email your resume to [email protected]. No phone calls please.

frac

This is not really a fractional. For the most part, they manage aircraft and have a deal with Flexjet. Many of the aircraft they manage have owner selected cews

United had a similar program. When they filed bankruptcy, everyone was fired. I would look elsewhere if you want to fly bizjets.

I think Delta AirElite has been around for a while. It used to be called Comair something or another, then got rolled under the DAL name around the same time Comair Academy did (I think).

I believe the United thing you are thinking about was their ill-advised attempt to get into the fractional bizjet market. At the same time they were trying to buy Airways. Two GIGANTIC wastes of money, IMO...A truly bonehead move, indeed.

Delta AirElite has been around for a while....though, they were under a different name up until a few years ago. I think it was Comair Jet Express or something like that. They fly a diverse fleet of bizjets, most of which are not owned by the comany - they are just managed and run on a 135 certificate. As far as I know, it's all 135 and management - no fractional. I interviewed many years ago, but doubt any of the info would be relevant now.

Delta air-elite has been around for about 20 years. They used to be called Comair Jet Express. They manage a bunch of aircraft and have a number of their own airplanes as well, 604's, LR 60's, etc.. I know a couple guys there and they seem to like it.
