This just goes to show why jackasses like you should stick to serving coffee rj punk!
Get lost RJ puke.

Hey man, he is a punk, and a puke, and he should be serving coffee or cleaning toilets, but as an RJ captain I find that remark a little offensive. I am trying my best to get a job with Delta, (long shot though, no inside connections) but in the mean time I aim to be as much of a professional as you are, and I try to take as much care of my passengers as I am sure you do, whether I fly an RJ, an ATR, or a Seminole. So please, mess with the guy, but leave my airplane alone.

BTW, there was no vote to terminate the pension.

BTW, there was an agreement not fight the termination. Contrary to the written word, DP3 did/does not represent the majority of retired pilot's.[/quote]

DP3 is the only group I'm aware of that represented the retired pilots. Are you getting any of the claim money DP3 negotiated for the retired pilots? If so, they represented you.

If you didn't want to join DP3, you could have fought the termination on your own or joined with other likeminded retired pilots if you had chosen to.

So did you fight the termination of the plan? Did you concede it?

The pension fund was funded at less than 40%, mostly due to those who took their early retirement and lump sums. I have no problem with that, they were absolutely entitled to do that, but the run on the bank did not help maintain the funding levels required to keep the DB plan.

Levels of Airline Customer Service:

1. JetBlue/Southwest treatment
2. Everybody else (but Delta)
3. Swift kick in the gonads
4. Prom night baby abandonement in a dumpster
5. Human feces thrown at you
...
And finally. Delta

As a former DCI commuting pilot, I was embarrassed to wear a Delta symbol on my uniform because of the way employees treated the customers (passengers) sitting next to me. How many $ million has Delta been fined for poor treatment of wheelchair-bound customers? Your service sucks and as long as General Lee's and the Atlantatude is there, there is ZERO chance for change. Keep up that Europe expansion where the commonplace Atlanta rudeness is an upgrade from Parisian courtesy.

I don't know if you are high or what! Delta customer service is far beyond what your former employer was ever able to do! ASA's service is so bad that Delta people had to step in and take it over! If our customer service is so bad, why are passenger bookings up and all the other airlines are on a downward trend? By the way, why were you wearing a Delta symbol on your uniform? Were you pretending to work for a real airline? I cant believe you are stupid to say there has been no change! In addition to our pay cuts, every aspect of Delta has changed! Everything! One exception, it is still a real fiun place to work!

...But Delta believes its expansion into lucrative international markets and lower costs will help it weather a downturn. It had forecast a pretax profit, before special items, of USD$816 million this year, after a loss of USD$452 million in 2006.

The book has not yet been written on how well Delta will do outside of bankruptcy. I sure hope those strong bookings will allow Delta to meet their $816 million pretax profit this year-- GOOD LUCK! Hopefully, Delta's exit team has prepared them for a spectacular recovery, UAL just lost $152 million in the first quarter this year after 3 years of "reorganization (wage/benefits cuts)". Lets see what it looks like a year from now, I'm a guarded optimist about how well Delta will do (a lot of drum beating prior to stock issuance)-- especially when Ryanair starts flying accross the pond!!!

You know that Ryanair made that announcement after being rebuffed for the second time by Aer Lingus? Ryanair has offered to buy them twice, and has been shot down twice. Of course Ryanair will threaten to do something like that. Do you know anything about Ryanair? They avoid large airports and fly to ones away from the cities. Would business travelers drive 50 miles (with high gas prices) to save some money and fly with people who have never flown before? Something to think about. Also, it would take YEARS for them to get a large fleet and train everyone etc. Which plane would they choose? They have all Boeing 738s right now, so you would think larger Boeings, but are there any available sitting around now? Hmmmm.

Bye Bye--General Lee

All the "drum beating" is designed to over inflate the stock out of the gate. I for one wonder how analysts can get away with inflammatory statements that effect pricing in all sectors short term. I especially love the "outperformed Wallstreets expectations BUT" line, then the stock, what ever it is is down. Then watch the volume of trading increase only to have some pinhead "up-grade" his/her prediction, up goes the price and Bob's your uncle and its all legal! Time will tell and I hope DAL is as strong coming out as the amazing analysts say they think they are.:erm:

Its no offense to you or your airplane.....Its to a little punk who thinks he knows everything, when in reality, he knows absolutely nothing!

A lot of those guys who retired just got more money thanks to an unsecured claim of over $500 million that was just sold for over 60 cents on the dollar. They actually did better than they originally thought they would.

And, I do respond a lot on this board. I enjoy it. As an aside, a JB buddy of mine had Neeleman on a flight to MCO recently, and he said DL and the RJs in JFK are driving him crazy.

You too are welcome anytime on our jumpseat.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Funny, I saw a line of about 20 Delta mainline and RJs waiting for their gates on taxiway B at JFK last week as every other airline taxied by. It seems like your RJs are clogging your very own system too. I'm sure your passengers love it!

Come on spectre.....You want to split hairs, how many times have I taxied by the B6 terminal while one of your 190's is blocking the taxiway waiting for a gate into your makeshift trailer? You guys have done a fantastic job of bogging down JFK in the past 5 years. I'm sure your pax are just as thrilled!
Our terminal may have the resemblance of ellis island, but yours resembles sanford & son!

We fly about the same number of flights a day compared to DAL and your partners out of JFK. RARELY do we block taxiways or wait for a gate during normal operations as much as you guys do. I'm not splitting hairs. Everytime one of DALs RJs land, they are asked, "Do you have a gate?" They are then told where to taxi or park. JetBlue is never asked is your gate open when we clear the runway. I think you don't fly out of JFK on a regular basis to notice.

BTW that makeshift terminal of ours will be gone by next year when we move into the new terminal 5.

Wouldn't it be a match made in heaven...DAL buys JB! A brand new terminal, 100 seater, 320's sent back to Boeing in exchange for 700LR's. The new DAL livery would suggest an easy paint transition!

Most of our mainline planes are flying away from JFK, to return the next day. You, unfortunately, have to come back to JFK, and deal with those RJs and Dash 8s on a regular basis. That was the plan.

And, after their 5 year contracts are up, they can be invited back to interview with us agian.

Bye Bye--General Lee

If it means flying with you, I will probably decline that stellar offer!

We're all in the same boat when we're number 30 for takeoff on 31L and a Dash 8 is cleared for an approach to the departure runway with a 30-knot headwind (what's his groundspeed?).

About as fast as that Cibo Express cashier when I'm ten in line and only 5 minutes to push.
