Delta guys -

any news? Looks like October has a few dates mentioned by GG

OCT 12 - 3rd QTR earnings report

OCT 14 - deadline for bond holders to make debt exchange

Financial press (same guys who said Enron was a "buy") claim Ch.11 by end of October by Delta

just curious if any news is on the horizon

good luck

$3.60 a share seems cheap. If Delta gose chapter 11, it will get cheaper, a lot cheaper. I was wondering if the cuts that management wants its employees to take are as big as the ones American took? United did not get the cuts in soon enough, so everybody gets a look at us to see where they maybe in the future. I believe United had a lot of debt, maybe they still do, not sure about Delta? Heard Delta has a lot of cash on hand, so that maybe the reason employees are hesitant about cuts? I do not like to see employees take pay cuts, it brings the whole industry down. When people say bankruptcy is bad for a company, but really bad for the employees, they are not joking.

Just returned from a roadshow GG put on for retirees concerning the state of affairs. He managed to say absolutely nothing. He wasted his time walking across the street.

sheesh

that sucks (GG's lack of info)

from a "Wall Street standpoint", DAL stock is in a carbon copy AMR-March-2003 scenario. When AA pilots agreed to concessions (1 hour from Ch.11 filing), over the next 3-5 months the stock went from $2 to $17 (at the peak).

lets see what happens

I have been looking at AMR for the long haul, maybe one the survivors after the dust settles. I like how they dumped the CEO when he tryed to give bounes to upper management, you don't see that too often. Americans management may have it together, unlike some other airlines I know. I have seen working stiffs, to a billionaire, dump a ton into United at $9 a share, on paper United looked great, young fleet, great route structure...., just mismanaged, and spending money like crazy. I know American can go from $7 to $5 over night, just need to pick the bottom, and in the long run there maybe a totally different line of carriers flying people around.
