Delta announces board for merged airline

Delta Air Lines Inc. announced late Wednesday its new board of directors, now that the carrier has officially received clearance to merge with Northwest Airlines Corp.
The new board contains eight members from Atlanta-based Delta’s board, including CEO Richard Anderson, and four from Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest’s board.
In addition to Anderson, the Delta (NYSE: DAL) members are: Chairman of the Board Daniel Carp, John Brinzo, Eugene Davis, David Goode, Paula Rosput Reynolds, Kenneth Rogers and Kenneth Woodrow. Coming over from Northwest (NYSE: NWA) are: former Northwest CEO Doug Steenland, John Engler, Mickey Foret and Rodney Slater.
Northwest will temporarily become a subsidiary of Delta and will be known as NWA Inc. It will be listed under an additional Delta subsidiary, Nautilus Merger Corp., created specifically for the merger.
Ed Bastian, the president and chief financial officer at Delta, will transition into the role of Northwest president and CEO during the integration of the airlines.
Delta operates a hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
