ATR-driver,

Me too.

Bye Bye--General Lee:cool:

Give this some thought. When Delta went to DALPA and said we won't lay off pilots if you consider a reduction in hours the MEC said go ahead and furlough. Who runs the MEC? Senior pilots at delta who may have two or more houses, kids in college, a couple of ex-wives , planes, cars etc. Now delta asks for 30% pay cuts. At some point it will come down to pay cut or relax scope ie. (DCI flys 100 seaters or 90's or whatever ) what do you think they will do? Don' t kid yourselves, most over there at DELTA don't really care about the guys at the bottom they care about themselves and their lifestyle. They see them as young and they will eventually find another job or get called back to enjoy life at the top, after all most of the furloughed guys came from regional stock anyway and we all know how the real pilots(read delta pilots) feel about us at the regional level regaurdless(sp) of our backgrounds.

Thesource,

There are some guys like that, but Dalpa will not choose one or the other. And, Dalpa just fought to get the 250 furloughs back (which the company did anyways)---and is still trying to get the others back. The company cannot force anything on Dalpa, and Chap 11 is not in the cards according to our CFO. If management took us into Chap 11 to change the pay rates, every stock holder would have the right to sue management for their losses. Not gonna happen. Scope is very important to Dalpa, and they will not let up without some major agreements with management---like contract extensions and minimum aircraft totals at the company. If management doesn't like that, I beleive Dalpa would say see you in 2005----and expect a 2 year negotiation period.(yes, managment might demand immediate mediation, but it would still take awhile) So, in 2007---DCI would finally get some new planes. A contract is a contract. I think management will eventually order (now I believe it will be in early 2004 they make the order) some 100 seaters---and that will be used as a bargaining chip----and as we expand alittle more, so will DCI. But, don't think that the senior guys at Dalpa will sell out all of the junior ones---we just lost 281 senior Capts on Sept 1st---and a huge bid will be coming out in early OCT----we are starting to bring back all of the planes from the desert, and things are slowly starting to move again---things are slowly coming back for us. Maybe that will turn into expansion at DCI--we shall see.

Bye Bye--General Lee;)
