That isn't Delta's reservation number. That is PAN AM'S reservation number that Delta was able to swipe in the early 90's as part of the North Atlantic Ops/Shuttle deal for better recognition. Just had to add my $.02

I didn't fly for Pan Am. I was 19 when they went under. I just know it was the first airline number that I had memorized.

I avoid Delta for one reason: they don't give us miles on whatever whiz-bang fare they sell us.
