2 765 ATL
6 73n NYC
19 MD88 NYC

Most people wanted ATL, all but 6-7. We should be able to get back anywhere between dec-march either in the same equipment or different.

The new bid that just came out includes over 600 vacancies, all bases, all equipment.

Crew resources stated that they see us hiring 50 a month for the next 2-3 years at least, Good luck.

765? Are you sure about that?

I was told it was the 767 domestic

It would have to be the domestic. Our contract only allows the M88 or 73N to be the new hire seat, UNLESS there were unfilled positions in other aircraft from previous bids. There were no 765 unfilled positions, but there were on the 767 and 7ER.

Any idea about the previous airline/military that the newhires came from?

It would be a strange airline job to never get to actually fly the airplane, but with the B fund contribution a second year 777FO could go over $100,000. There might be a few guys on the MD88 that would bite on that bait. What do you Delta line guys think?

Fin there is no way that would happen. Not this AE maybe the next one or two down the road. The 777 and 765 are the only aircraft where it behooves you to move up.
I would do it, but according to the AE it is well over the 10 year mark for FO.

Highly doubtful any 765 positions would be given, since that is a sought after position these days. It pays $15 more an hour than the 757/767, and there are plenty of guys in ATL that would take that gig. I bet it was for 757/767 dom.

765? Are you sure about that?

Yeah I am sure. Two guys, #1 and #2 in the class. The actual equipment is "called" B765, 757 and 767 domestic. There are 27 total, with 9 military, and 18 civilians. Their background were 121 regional, major and legacy, no fractional or corporate guys in this class.

Good luck.

765 = 767-400er

I think the 765 is the -400 and 767 designates 767-757 domestic. The two senior guys got domestic.

756 is what they call the 767/757 at CAL. At Delta, the domestic category is called the 767, the international is called 7ER, and the 767-400 internatinal is called the 765.

I spoke with the ATL CP today and no one in the 8/6 class got the 765. Two got the 767 (domestic 767/757 category).

Yeah, our 765 is a seperate category from the 767-400 (essentially it is our INTL category for the 767-400, even though we now don't have a domestic version). The 757/767 category is probably the 756---not the 765. Numbers can be confusing.

What are the projected reserve times for the newbies in ATL for each aircraft? I would think the 757/767 would be a very long time. Am I correct? Just looking at the pay advantages versus quality of life. At least the reserve system looks much better than my current company. Thanks for all the info.

For Sept there are 73 reserve lines for MD88 ATL. With 195 new hires is ATL for the 88 reserve should be about six to eight months. I have been on reserve since April and I now have 36 under me for Sept.

No I am a commuter and I want quality of life and seniority. I wanted and got MD88 ATL until I can hold a line on the 75/76 in ATL.

What's SLC looking like on the 88 or 73?

You won't get it on the initial bid, but on the next bid you could move to SLC from NYC on the MD88 or 73N. We seem to be having a bid every 2-3 months. SLC MD90 (MD88) isn't very senior.

Speaking of Delta newhires, what kind of eye test do they give you at the pre-hire medical? I have 20/20 by every other test, but that broken circle test still gives me problems for some reason.

That test is part of the medical. They give you two chances so the probability is high that you can guess it.

What's SLC looking like on the 88 or 73?

I think that guys hired in April are getting advanced there in Sep on the 90. Some guys hired in Feb and Mar are going there 9/1 on the 73. With this new bid, it looks like those who are able to bid on the AE should hold at least the 90 if they want it. I'm brand new and there are only about a dozen guys senior to me bidding SLC 90 as their first choice. With I think 8 vacancies in that category plus filling all the current 90 FO's who bid up to the 73, 76, or leave the base, I think anyone who wants it will get it on this bid. I have no clue how long reserve will be. If I see a line before 18 months I'll be happy. Only 13 or so reserves for each category there, so it actually may not take that long.

Thanks General and Truckdriver!

I'm starting in a week and just wanted to get a for feel how long I was going to have to commute to NYC. (I've got the low SSN). I was guessing about a year, but this sounds better!

KC ,

Welcome aboard. With 195 88 positions in ATL you will be back with the next AE. That being said the next AE will probably be sometime in late fall, and then with conversion windows you will be back to ATL in about late winter. This is a guess as to how it works with previous bids.

I'm confused, are the positions being awarded based on your last 4 of your SS#?? As in....9990 is the "more" senior person??
