Dell computers

I have owned two Dell PCs and my office has ten. My first Dell, purchased about ten years ago, needed its hard drive and modem replaced. Dell sent out a man to replace the hard drive and I replaced the modem myself. My second Dell worked flawlessly. Our Dells at work are five years old and work fine; their Windows 98 OS cannot handle our newer software and have frequent BSODs. We purchased two newer machines with Windows 2000 Professional and they work just fine.

If I were to purchase another PC, I'd purchase Dell. But, at home, I'm now a Mac user.

As far as I know, Dell has only brought the Latitude customer support back to the U.S.. Those that own one of their Inspiron notebooks still end up talking to someone in India for support.

Dunno what the situation is for desktops.

Currently US based support is for Optiplex (their business desktop line) Precision, Precision mobile (their workstation lines) and Poweredge (server line).
