Yep, today's the day. Many have said that if this IBB passes and IT WORKS, major business schools will be using this as a case study for years to come. This is a bigger deal than many realize.

If it passes, it will be interesting to see what the press has to say.

Wish I could have made it to CMH to help tally the vote.

One hour till the counting starts...

How long does it take to count to 2700?

C'mon RTRHD you know all the bureaucracy that goes into tallying a vote if you don't want it to come out Florida style! :D

They have to retrieve the votes from the post office box, count them, transport them to the 1108's office and then count them again to make sure none were lost in the transfer. They then must see if there are any duplicates and if there are, the most recently postmarked enveloped from that individual must be found. (guys were allowed to change their votes if they desired when the deadline was pushed back. We were told the most recently postmarked vote will be counted) They must also verify that each vote is from a member in good standing on our seniority list. At that point the count may begin, I think! There might be some other steps in there that I am unaware of.

But do we find out the results today? At least an unofficial result. I mean it can't be that difficult.

I sure hope so! :D

If somebody doesn't beat me to it, I'll post the result of the vote as soon as I hear something.

It depends on how many volunteers there are, how good of a job our members did on all of the teamsters rules when it comes to voting, how many distractions the volunteers have, etc. The point is, the teamsters are still living in the 19th century and these are being HAND COUNTED. It will take time.

My SINCERE thanks to those who volunteered. I wish I could be there to help out.

Someone posted on our private union boards that they can get an unofficial general idea on how the vote will turn out after they count the first 200.

I sure hope this passes. I was hoping to buy the kids a new pair of shoes and a can of spam for Christmas...

Hey T-1 guy,
You still flyin' herks? If so, where at? How good is the company when it comes to your Mil leave stuff?

They are great with the mil leave. The 7 and 7 makes it pretty easy. The company is very pro-military. Remember the original board of directors included:Jimmy stewart (Retired Col.), General Lemay (SAC), and others... A lot of the rules remind me of Mil regs...

PS recent slide in recurrent: 5 percent mil pilots hired in the past, future pie chart showed 16%. That jumped out at me like a sore thumb... You do have to put up with a lot of Army flyers :)....
